Being an owner of the 5D, I’m very much looking forward to upgrading to the 5D Mark II. The features I’m looking forward to the most are the increased ISO, higher resolution, weather-proofing, and video capability.
While it’s expensive, given my satisfaction with the current 5D, I’m sure it will be worth it.
I have upgraded one of my two 5D’s to a Mark II, I love the bright viewing screen. I think they went a little overboard with extras. Although the video is great.
As the proud owner of a 10D that upgraded to a 40D — I can honestly say the Canon 5D Mark II would be my next upgrade. A friend of mine has already upgraded and she LOVES the video feature — I honestly would be more excited about having a full frame sensor!
As a owner of a 5D, I’m not overly excited about the 5D2. I think my next upgrade will be a 1ds2, as I like the layout of the pro body more than the pro-sumer bodies.
I love the clarity of the 5Dmkii’2 LCD (same as the Nikon D300), so it’s images already look extremely sharp. However, after 12MP, I don’t need much more resolution, as I rarely print, nor do I have to crop much. The video factor is fairly exciting, but I would rather have a seperate setup for making video – go all the way or don’t bother, is my outlook on video.
I love my 5Dmk1, and think I might grab another as their price has come down, and wait to see what else Canon might bring down the pipe.
i have been shooting with a a 5D for 2 years and honestly i love this camera.
when i saw the updated camera i wanted it so i ordered the mark II dec 1.
canon has not shipped any cameras to macmall since, my order has been postponed about 11 times. not a great way to do business canon.
the people at macmall are very upset as well.
We are so in love with our EOS x10 that we’re always grabbing it from each other and no one wants anything to do w/any of our old pointshoots. There are features we love and some we don’t but my cousin has been making me jelouse of her new Mark and now I really really want one. that way we’ll have two fabulous cameras to capture our fabulously athletic junior. PLEASEPLEASe PICK ME!!!!!!!
I am upgrading from a 20D to the 5DmkII because it’s time to get a body that can keep up with my needs for better low light performance for event shooting and amazing portrait capabilities. There was no question of the upgrade between any other models. And with a new baby on the way I’ll have to pinch pennies later.
